A citizen called police when he discovered his Sri Lankan housemaid allowed her compatriot boyfriend to spend the night in her sponsor’s house, says Al-Seyassah.

The complainant told police he was heading to the kitchen late at night when he heard strange voices from the housemaid’s room. He immediately reported the incident to the Operations Room which dispatched a team of securitymen to the location.

The housemaid and her boyfriend were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action. (Arab Times Online)

If they are in another country, they have to follow that country's law. In that country, this is an illegal act, although in Sri Lanka, it is not. For example, prostitution is illegal in Sri Lanka but it's not illegal in Netherlands. If someone from Netherlands come to Sri Lanka and engage in prostitution, they will still be arrested by police.
