Several skeletal remains were found at the site of the proposed bio-gas unit of the Matale hospital.

The workers who were digging the trenches for the foundation are reported to have found the skeletal remains. Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Arjuna Tilakaratne immediately informed the Matale police which had secured the building site and was carrying out investigations.

The Matale Magistrate was scheduled to visit the scene and hold the preliminary magisterial inquiry. (Mahesh Kirithiratne)
