Four undergraduates of the Sabaragamuwa University who were engaged in a hunger strike have been admitted to the Balangoda Hospital this morning due to their deteriorating health condition, hospital sources said.

They started the fast three days ago to urge university authorities to withdraw their decision to cancel the studentship of five undergraduates.

Meanwhile a group of Sabaragamuwa University undergraduates carried out a protest campaign on the Colombo - Badulla road, obstructing traffic this morning, to express their support to the fasting students.(LP)

Engaging in hunger strike is much more better than the self immolation. A good lesson from students to Masters. For further advises, please contact our veteran WW.

We all know there are problems in all Universities. But,in comparison Sabaragamuwa students create more troubles and most of the time it is closed. Don't they want to pass out early?????

If they had to pay for education they would realize the value of it and pass out early to avoid paying for longer than necessary.
