SF’s condition improving-Anoma

The former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka’s wife Anoma said yesterday her husband’s lung condition had improved and he might be released from hospital in the next few days based on doctors’ advice.

However Ms. Fonseka said in the event her husband’s condition worsened there were no adequate facilities at the Magazine Prison where he was serving the sentence imposed on him. She said the nebulizer machine in the jail would be of little help to him in case of an emergency.

Mr. Fonseka was admitted to Navaloka hospital on Saturday after a Court directed that he be treated for a severe case of asthmatic bronchitis after his lawyers submitted his medical reports and the doctors’ recommendations. (Olindhi Jayasundere)
