Speaking to media at the Colombo High Court premises Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka said that he would not kneel down before “hooligans” even after if he was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment or dies in the jail. (ISA)

You were the only hero among all other past and present military leaders who had the courage to face the LTTE wrath. You could have retired and had the opportunity to leave the country. But, instead of hiding in the USA like Gota did until his brother was given SLFP leadership by Chandrika you served the motherland even after life threatening injury. Without your courage, bravery and experience in the battle field, sir, we are still losing our military men and women and still fighting this war. Rajapkses are a very selfish clan who are greedy on the money no matter it comes from KP or loopy. you have won the people’s heart already. Sir, next time please use words that strengthen the masses like Nelson Mandela did after 27 years of jail time with hard labor to win the people’s vote. Good luck!
