Why they are very silent about sending our Girls & mothers to Middle east. it is a shame to our country "House maids"
Nodrog Friday, 20 July 2012 03:47 AM
There has to be a sustained effort and focus on this issue and harsh punishment for the offenders otherwise the cruelty will continue.
Vas Friday, 20 July 2012 04:03 AM
If the law and order is in the hands of corrupt leadership judiciary etc is the main reason for the increase in rape.
Kate Friday, 20 July 2012 05:10 AM
Politicians will wake up only if one of their daughters/sisters or mother or wife is raped until then they will sleep. Its a good thing that you "Rosy " has taken the initiative to do something about this. The punishment should be public or death penalty imposed. If one is hanged or put on the electric chair then the fear will spread. The judiciary is also to blame for not taken the strongest action possible.

I'm very sorry about these women's husbands.
lankaman Friday, 20 July 2012 05:24 AM
what else can you expect when perverted rulers and their kids lead the way?
Polonnaru Friday, 20 July 2012 06:25 AM
Oh Please. Such hypocrisy. So a beauty pageant is not an exploitation of women? Get real. This is not a political thing for you to tell us the government is at fault. This is a social issue. Be true to yourself. If you were really interested in protecting women do social work and not political scapegoating. By your messed-up logic its your god who is responsible as he created EVERYTHING. Oh yeah and the bible loves women. Hypocrite!
Asaranakolla Friday, 20 July 2012 02:44 AM

The culture os Sri Lanka has vanished. There is no respect for any one. When people do not have respect for them selves what do you expect. Some of our politicians do not help either. They are not good roll models to people of this country. We will have to start from the very begining to educate and respect each other.
Hasthi Saturday, 21 July 2012 12:13 AM
Whether she is a hypocrite or not, we have a real big problem at hand. May the non-hypocries take the lead with a pledge: fight unto death to eradicate this menance.
darrel Saturday, 21 July 2012 04:08 AM
pointing finger to a party/group won't resolve this issue. all citizens should take responsibility for these by way of following ways (few),
1) how the females dresses
2) punishment available in the country
3) though people called themselves very irreligious, by action they are not.
darrel Saturday, 21 July 2012 04:18 AM
what do not know what rosy is doing , but these things were happening earlier as well , but these so call ladies should have come forward at those times. anyway all of us (all citizens ) responsible of these
Corey Saturday, 21 July 2012 04:58 AM
Why? Because you're some sexist stone age pig straight from the Koran?
Lak Saturday, 21 July 2012 05:00 AM
A beauty pageant empowers women and teaches them that how they take care of themselves and make their own decisions, is more important for their self esteem than how they are viewed/owned by a man telling her what to do. Beauty pageants offer international opportunity and economic benefits, not to mention the means to be a leader of women. Stop having such a backward attitude men.
Harry Saturday, 21 July 2012 06:14 AM

Welusumana Thursday, 19 July 2012 08:02 PM
Well done Rosy. We need someone to take the lead leaving aside political difference. We are fastly heading to become a state of sexual predators and unless urgent action is taken we as a society will pay for this menace. The politicians will not wake up unless someone kick them from behind. Yes...it is right move at the right time.
Citizen Thursday, 19 July 2012 11:06 PM
