Seven buses shot in Matara

Seven private buses were shot and damaged by an unidentified gang in Mulatiyana area in Matara this morning, the police said.Six buses were extensively damaged and the police said that the shooting had been done by using T 56 assault rifles. Also the police recovered sixteen bullets that were used for the shooting.
It is believed that a long standing personal dispute paved way for the shooting. Two special teams have been deployed into the area to arrest the runaway suspects under the directions of Matara SSP Sumith Edirisinghe. (Supun Dias and Krishan Jeewaka Jayaruk)
