If, as the Government spokesman stated the road is on 'private land' , then it is within the power of the government to acquire this land for the common good in the interests of the nation! Not to seek a 'compromise'!!

If the land is private, the government should take steps to acquire to acquire it to save the only virgin rainforest in the island. Those who want a road and more amenities should be compensated and relocated in another area as is done in Colombo. Some dimwits apparently do not understand the importance of Sinharaja.
