The Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council today passed a resolution unanimously against the report by the Advisory Panel to UN General Secretary Ban Ki Moon.
Chairman of the Council Ranjith Bandara said that this resolution passed unanimously would be communicated to Mr. Moon very soon.
Addressing the Council, Opposition Leader A.A. Wijetunga said that his party is ready to join hands with others in the face of mounting pressure against the interests of the country.
While thanking Chief Minister Mahipala Herath for bringing such a motion against this controversial report, Mr. Wijetunga said that the UN attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Sri Lanka through this exercise should be condemned roundly.
