Two men travelling in a trishaw are alleged to have robbed Rs.3.3 million worth of cash belonging to a private campus in Mount Lavinia when the cash was being taken to be deposited in a private bank.

Police said the incident took place around 11.00 a.m. when an officer of the Campus was walking towards the bank carrying the brief case with the cash collected from students.

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana said two unidentified men had snatched the briefcase at a spot along Hotel Road opposite St. Thomas College Tennis Courts. The Mt. Lavinia Police are investigating. (Supun Dias)

They deserve to be robbed if they just carry cash in a briefcase. In fact may be a regular banking procedure. Inside job ??
