Severe traffic congestion is being reported from Fort to Pettah because one lane on the Galle Face Road near the old parliament has been closed for carpeting.

The roads are being done up for the Colombo Night Races (CNR) to be held on December 14 and 15.

That is a classic example about the applicability of the law based on the profile. If a poor ordinary citizen ride a bike without a helmet he will be fined. That unlawful act was a cover picture of a daily newspaper today ! to give him a publicity.
