A Captain in the LTTE Sea Tiger Wing before being involved in the smuggling of weapons for the LTTE, the suspect was sentenced to 10 years on each of the three charges

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana said after joining the LTTE in 1992 he had gone to North Korea to arrange a weapons shipment consisting of missiles and ammunition in 1996 and was involved in smuggling operations in 1997 and 1998.
