UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayaka was arrested by the police a short while ago, the police said. The MP was taken into custody for defrauding a woman.

The suspect was alleged to have cheated a school teacher and drawn Rs. one million from her on the promise of marriage. The suspect will be produced in court in tomorrow.

This is a funny country. Everytime a UNP er does anything wrong like stealing, robbing,misappropriation and anything like that he is said to be innocent and the government is said to be victimising them ! That means all the Opposition supporters donot make any crime and they should not be punished !
