Rakna Lanka chief to appear before PRECIFAC

Rakna Araksha Lanka Ltd. Chairman Victor Samaraweera and top officials of the Ratmalana Vocational Technology University are to be summoned before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRESIFAC) on Monday.

PCoI Secretary Lacille De Silva said Rakna Lanka Chairman Mr. Samaraweera would be summoned before the commission to record evidence with regard to a complaint of deploying its employees for the last Presidential election campaign in January this year.

He said the management officials of the Ratmalana Vocational Technology University would be summoned before the Commission to record evidence with regard to an allegation of irregularities pertaining to the issue of duty free vehicle permits to its lecturers. (Ajith Siriwardana)

Misuse of Duty free vehicle permits is done by everybody who has one.This is a unofficial method of Bribing officials or MP;s Ministers by the Government to get their support.This method should be stopped at once.

More and more acts of corruption and fraud are said to be investigated, but regrettably no action has been taken in the past eight plus months. It is only one guy who is in custody for comparatively minor abuse of using Official vehicles for private purposes !!!!!!
