The Puliyankulam agriculture faculty of the Rajarata University has been closed indefinitely after a dispute broke out between two student groups, Vice Chancellor of the university, K.A. Nandasena said.

Three students have sustained injuries as a result the dispute and one student has been hospitalized. Four students have been arrested.

    The situation in our universities are pathetic. Bring in Private universities. At least then these fellows will realize that we do not care about them as now.

    These students have no value of free education! All the other students who actually want to study are also at a disadvantage due to this. I think Sri Lanka needs private universities badly!
