That is a great statement. No one can challenge that. We all know winds patterns change all the time. Ask a primary school kid!

the whole point of the Metrology department is to inform the public BEFORE it rains.... it looks like someone in the department forecasts the weather by looking out of the window

    Notharismama Friday, 07 September 2012 07:43 AM

When it starts raining in Vavuniya, Met Department will tell you that - "It is raining in Vavyniya too". Until such time keep your fingers crossed!

In this day and age, weather forecasting can be pretty good, e.g., the track of the recent hurricane in the U.S., not to mention the typhoons in the Pacific. Why is it the Met Department in this country cannot alert people to the change of winds et al a little before the deluge hits?

    Jayasekara Friday, 07 September 2012 06:25 PM

It is like all other department moving backwards can not do even the basic duty of the department
