Singapore style buses are what is needed badly . swap the card ,get down

Its time the Govt of SL introduced more buses than wasting money on Tamasha's and other useless investments...
The Private Bus operators have become a big issue for the people and its time they either work or come under state ownership. We are fed-up of their strikes..
Failure of successive Govt's to introduce a proper transport system for the people is a real shame...

Use the Quality buses and driver only, pay little more to the driver. Swamping a card also good or buy advance.

Gemunu is also close to MR. This is a distraction before something else like a fuel price hike is implemented. via DM Android App

There will not be a immediate promising solution for this problem because most of these private buses are owned by government big shots and run by uneducated and unmindful people.

Comon! They could have selected another day to have their strike than on a day which is rainy being the first working day of the week. Show some sympathy to the commuter!

MudiyanseMama, we should start by giving Service Level agreements to the government. The move down the line to the bus crews.

Colombo-Matugama (R# 430) is also in strike. this sudden strike which put the public in severe trouble in this rainy morning. I would like to hear what say by Minister of Transportation about this strike, for which his own buses were also participates.
MudiyanseMama Tuesday, 30 October 2012 04:27 AM
Please take the private bus administration under MoD. They only concern about their own benefits never deliver their obligations. Or introduce a service level contract to bus operators when they are given permits cancel it when they fail to meet the service level.

Still Private bus Mafia is haunting the country. But in these rainy days it looks like a strike because not much passengers on the way.
