Private bus knocks down two little children

Two children were killed when a private bus veered into a woman and the children while they were near the Daluggala Junction in Kegalle, police said.

The victims were a three-year-old girl and a ten-year-old boy. Their mother who was injured was rushed to the Kegalle Hospital.

The bus driver was arrested. The Rambukkana Police are investigating.

law has evolved after the catastrophic train and bus accident in which the bus driver was judged to be hanged...if you use public transportation you can see how irresponsible they are..

you only need to travel on kandy rd, avissawela or such major highway to see these intercity buses speeding and at times on the wrong side of the road. why has the authorities failed to stop these bus operators in spite of repeated murders by these private bus operators? why cannot these services be handed over to private companies area by area to provide a proper service? the competition between these operators is what gets these drivers to race each other for passengers.

Minimum 03 month jail sentence, sometimes one month if bribe police to hush up the case. thats the value od humans in third world countries.

Police should stop all these care less bus drivers who think they are behind the wheel of a rally car ! My goodness , the way the "race" other busses with similar routes is so scary ! To top it all off , thy play loud baila , so they get into the mood
