    sltk2004 Monday, 01 July 2013 06:30 AM

How about making it compulsory for all military members and politicians to do OL, AL and a first degree? All those who fail should be certified as intellectually 'un-fit'. Will you agree to a scheme like that ?

    Anura Monday, 01 July 2013 07:47 AM

    lol

Rata Haraka Monday, 01 July 2013 07:57 AM

First put all politicians through this training. They are the worst bunch of useless idiots.

Management training for Principals and military training once an year for Parlimentarians

Calistus Jayatilleke Monday, 01 July 2013 10:59 AM

Spare the intellectuals who do not need military training but instead compel the fatsos with big bellies in the parliament to undergo such training. At least that way, we can get rid of some of them. Looks like some crazy fellow is hell bent on militarizing the whole country.

    BuffaloaCitizen Monday, 01 July 2013 11:28 AM

We buffaloes pay for that too, not Gota or MR who are the real culprits for these schemes.

    sanjeewa1 Monday, 01 July 2013 11:51 AM

So Principles are not suitable to be Major.. now Army majors will become Principles....

kitth udugama Monday, 01 July 2013 02:08 PM

Those who oppose this program are low life jokers ,who always think on political terms. They are a real provincial bunch why not wear an amude and start digging the land,

    mur Monday, 01 July 2013 03:29 PM

pissu natanawa. they want admin trainning. how to admin school.

kitth udugama Sunday, 30 June 2013 09:44 AM

This program will make the principals to feel that they are "Some Body" not a bunch of just "school teachers",now a days no body respects them. They have to kneel down when a low life politician orders them to.do so.

What training for people who are nearing their retiring age ??

Critic Roshan Sunday, 30 June 2013 08:09 AM

Now the School Principal became the first non-combat war hero of the nation. May he RIP.

    Harry Sunday, 30 June 2013 08:18 AM

Does this necessary? Are we all living in military world. The prominent we are giving to the military will one day suppress our democratic rights.

    Mahinda Sunday, 30 June 2013 08:25 AM

The principals should be trained to complain about mental stress and leave to usa

    saradiyal Sunday, 30 June 2013 08:35 AM

This military mentality is not going to take the country anywhere other than down. If you want to give military training, get hold of policemen who doesn't look like they can run a hundred meters.

    Yuri Sunday, 30 June 2013 08:45 AM

What really this dam Junats wants? kill everyone

    Doctor Sunday, 30 June 2013 09:02 AM

Who organize these programmes where older people have to undergo physical training not knowing whether they are fit enough to do such strenuous activities.

kitth udugama Sunday, 30 June 2013 09:37 AM

All Politicos with out "A" level must be made to get through these exams and a fitness test every year to reduce their fat bellies. its difficult to participate in freedom from hunger programs
,as the other participants will thing these fat boys eat all the food
    they receive.

kitth udugama Sunday, 30 June 2013 09:39 AM

its a good program ,but there should be strict medical tests for those who are over50 years.prior to participation.
I think its an excellent program.

    weha Sunday, 30 June 2013 09:40 AM

Yeah they are just using the name of the army to draw the peoples mind away from other pending issues. how can a 2 3 week training replace the experience they had for the past 30 40 years?

    Snowy Sunday, 30 June 2013 07:28 AM

This training is all nonsense. Good for OL and Grade 8 educated politicians. Not for the intelligent.

james perera Sunday, 30 June 2013 09:56 AM

The principals family should sue the education ministry ,for killing him for at least 500 million,

    Mancini Sunday, 30 June 2013 10:06 AM

    Joseph Stalin lol !

Bandara Manik Sunday, 30 June 2013 10:06 AM

Why are we doing this sort of meaningless activities. It is high time to rethink about this sort of strategy.

    DHA Sunday, 30 June 2013 10:14 AM

Guess self defense training to face future politicians.....

    Yehiya Sunday, 30 June 2013 10:17 AM

Fools making entire country fools. One decision making fool spoil the entire country.

    Aruna Sunday, 30 June 2013 10:21 AM

Exactly, first show you have control of and discipline in the Police before shoving naive stuff down the throats of old principals. As a result of this cynical rubbish, the ranks in the military will and are loosing respect for officers! Bad choice, bad taste... You were good to win the war but post war is a different story.

    renure Sunday, 30 June 2013 10:22 AM

Who wants millitary training . This country does not need it . It is a country with buddhist, who are able to distinguish with right and wrong . These jokers think that millitary can solve everything

Lanka Shantha Sunday, 30 June 2013 11:04 AM

Government and the leaders who are at the helm know only "victory." They don't know about living or progress.

Raymond Punchisingho Sunday, 30 June 2013 11:10 AM

Was this training necessary? Who takes responsibility for such misadventures? What about the family that has now lost its primary breadwinner? A person with heart disease is still able to survive and provide useful service in todays world, within certain medical guidelines.

    GC Sunday, 30 June 2013 11:22 AM

Very true. Principals and teachers are educated intellectuals not athletes or solders. The situation shows the intellectual calibre and education of the people who make decisions on behalf of the country. Have those who put these people, and even our young undergraduates, through military training forgotten that : 'Lowen Ekkek Eka Deyakata Wei Smatha' - which in English equates to 'Jack of all trades, Master of None'.

    GC Sunday, 30 June 2013 01:27 PM

Have you been to it? Will you send your old relations to it?

    siddique Sunday, 30 June 2013 01:27 PM

Military training is important if we have inherited oil resources in
our country to protect that but, without such fear we are in sad
mood, struggling to combat the cost of living and expecting it
from uneducated fools who enjoy our human resources by showing
    magics to innocent educated crowd.

    Student Sunday, 30 June 2013 01:27 PM

In Sinhala it says we should not be like the Donkey who try to do the Dog's duty.
