The Police Department said today that transferring of 10,000 police officers that was to be effective from January 2015, has been postponed to February.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that the decision has been taken as a result of upcoming Presidential Election.
He said the Department had decided to transfer 10,000 police officers from their current postings in September.
SSP Rohana said that the transfers to officers from the ranks below Inspector of Police will be postponed to February 1, 2015.(DS)
