But Friday is a long way off and didn't they boast that we are the only country that gives uninterrupted power 24 hours a day?

Why was it necessary to have Power cuts at all when the Engineer in charge at Norocholai Power station would have knowned that the set could be repaired tested and put on bars by friday and any water that had to be used not to have power cuts could have been made up when the 400 Mw are on bars and if there was a short fall of peaking power this could have been made good by System Control reducing voltage by 2%

This is the second time the main bearings have failed. This time when the HT line tripped the the Jacking oil pump did not come on. These type of failures would have been avoided if a systematic full load test was performed at the commissioning time. It was rushed through on Ministry orders and complete testing was not done. We will face more such problems f proper commissioning is not done. Hope at least the next plant will be properly commissioned with all proper tests. Time required for repairs are not known by CEB Engineers. It is left to the Chinese.
