The police are currently quizzing at least three women and a man for allegedly acting in locally made pornographic movies. The four individuals were rounded up following the public notice which was released recently.

The move was taken following last week’s action to publicize portraits of individuals who had acted in video clips which school children had accessed on their mobile phones. The four individuals were rounded up following the public notice.

Sri Lankan police’s Child and Women’s Bureau said they are questioning them for their alleged role in pornographic movies.

Police added that the juvenile court will be moved yet again on November 18 for action against over 100 more pornographic websites. The present crackdown has already resulted in blocking over 800 websites carrying pornographic pictures.

The police crackdown of pornographic websites came closely on the heels of arresting of couples in public places for indecent behavior. (PTI)

Most of the pics published by the police are of innocent girls who are victims themselves. Most pictures which surfaces the internet are published by their Ex boyfriends for reasons such as revenge, without their own knowledge. What the police have published is just some amateur's private videos/ photos which could have reached the internet without their knowledge. But when the real people are caught running brothels are released without questioning with the intervention of top police officers and politicians! what a funny world we like in!

I am all for a decent society and NO pornography or even semi nude stuff in public. Micro Mini wearers beware ! you may be arrested on the pretext of " dressing indecently in public, causing accidents". Some may even have to go to Traffic Courts for being the reason for accidents .

What police and court have done is so wrong pulishing the photos. This is against the ethics of civilised people. They should have use intelligence(if they have) to find these ppl without advertising the photos of these women. This is not the west, this creates great embarrasement for thir families and enjoyment for 'Abilin' type people in their villages.
