Sirasa Cameras were smashed and goons set fire and later attached the head office. No action. It is a case of our men vs your men
mervyn perera Tuesday, 10 May 2011 01:27 AM
The cop should have assaulted a journo from Sirasa, lankaen3ews or some other private medial personnel. He would have been promoted.
Rahmathullah Monday, 09 May 2011 06:34 PM
If the journalists were from Sirasa, the PCs would have been promoted.
Firaz Anver Monday, 09 May 2011 06:24 PM
If this journalist was from Lankaenews he would have been arrested and the cop released.
Sanj Monday, 09 May 2011 05:54 PM
He is a journalist? Wonderful measure are taken in SL to separate journalist. IF anyone who is making jokes on the television is not a journalist.
M.Jayatunga Monday, 09 May 2011 04:03 PM
Ofcourse it is the ITN. Let's see what happens when the Sirasa is attacked.

They are all the kings men who will mourne one fine day when humpty dumpty falls.

Citizen Monday, 09 May 2011 10:38 AM
Actually what happened to those guys who entered to a Government Television Channel and assalted the news director?
Jayasiri Monday, 09 May 2011 10:38 AM
Police normally beat normal persons never mind this important person. Only beatings for poor go unnoticed. The government must compensate for victims of the brutal police assaults.
PADMA Monday, 09 May 2011 10:51 AM
Where were you Mr Balasooriya when other journalists were assault by police?
No any preliminary inquiry also.
Udagedera Monday, 09 May 2011 10:37 AM
If it had been a private media person, I don't thnk the police officer would've been bothered.
Uglytruth Monday, 09 May 2011 10:39 AM
If this guy from some other media, then the police officer will be rewarded...
spark Monday, 09 May 2011 10:11 AM
The journalist is from a government channel. This must be a stage managed act because sacking a policemen with such lightning speed without holding proper inquiry is unbelievable. How about metting out the same justice to journalists assaulted live in front of cameras.
Knight Rider Monday, 09 May 2011 09:57 AM
well done ! we hope to see more disciplinary actions like this in order to create a GOOD SYSTEM !
