Sources said the alleged infringmenet by a player had triggeered the brawl after which both teams had exchanged fisticuffs.

The situation is reported to have turned ugly after spectators supporting both teams stormed the playing field and joined the free-for-all.

Everything in this country is politicized. Today Kandy is playing Navy. Even the referee appointment has been politisized.

All brawls start for a reason. All institutions in this country is politicised unfortunately and frustrations of people comes out in way of brawls at different stages.

I wont condone the fighting. But we need to look beyond the fight to see the reason.

Sports and spirit mixes to unruly out come.
Recently one mobile phone company cricket match went off due to drunk people. Spirit and sports blend in Sri Lanka and it is allowed officially.
