The state-owned Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has increased the price of a liter of Octane 90 Petrol by Rs. 10 effective from midnight yesterday (14).The new price is Rs. 159.

Crude prices do increase over the winter in northern hemisphere and due to increased travel during festive/holidays. For example Australia petrel price is aud 1.45( slr 188) India ir 75 (slr 188) we are still cheaper but we have a higher tax I believe they are still selling at a loss at 159. We have to be rational before we bark.

Since we've been hearing the news about UFOs our government made a super plan to protect Sri Lanka from the alien invasion.
They came up with plan, they increased the petrol prices now aliens would be shit scared to land their space ships in Sri Lanka.

Mr poet, do you think that, person who works in Australia earns ( Rs 20,000/136 =147, Rs 50,000/136=367 or 100,000/136=735) $147, $367 or 735 per month? convert salary as well, not only the price of a petrol ltr. think before you bak.

I am not in support of the current government...but to be frank fuel price in SL is still cheaper comparing to most countries...in UK petrol is £1.42(SLR 292) yet people can afford with the income...real issue in SL is not the fuel price its the economy, when average income is 15,000 SLR 159 per litre for fuel is almost impossible.
