A private petition filed against Central Bank (CB) Governor Arjuna Mahendran and his son-in-law Arjun Aloysius was today dismissed by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya after the petitioner decided to withdraw it.

Renuka Perera, who filed the petition over the CB Bond sale issue, told the court that he wished to withdraw the case as the Bribery Commission was also probing same issue.

At the same time, two private petitions filed against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former CB Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal over EPF transaction and Greek Bond issue were also dismissed by the Magistrate after the complainant told that he wished to withdraw the cases. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
