Over 50 hospitalized due to food poisoning

More than 55 persons were admitted to the Watawala District Hospital and are currently being treated for food poisoning, the police said. The persons had taken part in a festival at an estate in Watawala and had consumed food given out at the event.

Soon after, the people had complained of vomiting, sever headaches and diarrhea and sought treatment at the Watawala District Hospital. The police are conducting further investigations into the incident. (Daily Mirror online)
