Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva informed Parliament that a no confidence motion would be presented in Parliament against Public Order Minister John Amaratunga in connection with an incident that is reported to have taken place at the Wattala Pradeshiya Sabha.

IGP should take action immediately..... President has other work to attend and all ministers should learn a lesson from these activities. If anyone does wrong MEDIA should report and keep the attention on the news item until the person is been convicted. Our lanka will only goto the next level by these correct activities. Jphn Ameratunga was a utter failure in the UNP.. He and his brother in ;law Retired DIG Lal Ratnayake who is also in the ministry should be chased out. John was responsible for helping Mahinda Rajapakse in a murder case when UNP was in Power during 2002 to 2004
