No don't blame Mahinda Rajapakse. It's the goons in parliament who have gone trigger happy and power mad. They pass meaningless laws for obscure objectives that does no good to the economy except harm. MH's hands are tied because he is the head of a coalition and he needs the support of all types.

Military is not trained on law and order. They are trained to kill. That is why we should not use the military for enforcing law and order. The fact that the defence secretary is defending the killing of the protester should make the people think. Being a military man himself he will defend the military not the people.

Why didn't the Police use low casualty defensive weapons like rubber bullets, tear gas and water cannons etc.
Using live bullets on protesters is not the norm. People are already subjected to untold misery with unbearable high cost of living.
Govt.with overburdened 225 MPs parliament should find solutions for peoples needs than wasting money on unending elections.
