The Education Ministry today assured that there will be no delays whatsoever in the 2011 G.C.E. A/L examination, evaluation or results releasing procedures due to the withdrawal of academics from this year’s A/L evaluations.
Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena speaking at a media briefing a short while ago said that the academics only contribute to the evaluation supervision process and that their withdrawal would not disrupt the activities. “We have already selected 30,000 teachers to participate in this year’s A/L answer script evaluations, so there is no shortage of evaluators,” he said.
The 2011 A/L examination is due to commence on August 8 and the evaluation process is scheduled to initiate during the third week of August. According to the Examinations Department some 272,000 students have applied to sit for the 2011 A/L examination. (Lakna Paranamanna)
bandu , ensure that not to give to unqualified ones to evaluate , even the qualified teachers too are not aware of certain answers to the questions on the exam paper , the results depends the child's future , you better open your eyes, without sleeping and appoint those who have knowledge in each subjects

Government in of Sri Lanka is very much like its weather bureau; they say exactly the opposite of what is going to happen.
Going by that you can bet that there'll be major trouble at A/L exams this year. I pity the students who'll have to go through this.
Someone I know sat for the O/Ls in a year where un-Education Minister at the time decided students have to sit for only six subjects. After all these years she still has to explain the situation back then, after mentioning here very good grades for only six subjects she took.

Why is the Minister cursing everybody on the SLBC on Saturday morning for the usual examiners not evaluating or marking the answer scripts, unless I heard him wrong?

"The evaluation supervision process" includes preparation of question papers and more importantly the marking schemes. Without marking schemes the teachers would not be able to mark the papers.

I hope that the children who sat for the exam this time will get a fair marking process. Hope the people who have been selected to mark these papers will be able to work the standard required by them. We will know once the results are out and how many children apply for re correction.
