present situation - we need minimum SLR 100,000 per month for a middle class family in Sri Lanka, if a Phd guy work in forign country like Europe or Gulf minimum salary will be USD 10,000 or more as we know- even an engineer earn minimim USD 5000. I do not know how a professor in Sri Lanka can servive with low salry to maintain his family and day today expenses also the other expenses. Goverment must consider thier requirements to raise the salary in all sectors- teaches- minimum SLR30,000. Engineerings and Doctors- SLR 50,000 and Professors minimum 120,000 SLR, to keep them in the job.
