Navy medical specialists will monitor the health condition of General Sarath Fonseka daily, Military Spokesperson Major General Prasad Samarasingha told Daily Mirror online in response to concerns raised by the General’s wife.
When questioned about the detained General’s health, the Military Spokesperson said that the former Army Commander was in good health. “As per the doctors, his health is very good. We will have a navy doctor checking him everyday,” Major General Samarsingha said.
Former Sri Lanka Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka's wife, Anoma Fonseka has in writing requested Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya to intervene to secure the necessary specialist medical care required by her husband.
Anoma has stated in the letter dated March 31, 2010 that she was increasingly concerned about General Fonseka's deteriorating health condition and has sought the Army Commander's intervention taking into consideration the "selfless service" rendered by the General to the Army and the country. God will punish them very soon. Millions of people are cursing for this injustice, and the intense curse focused on the perpetrators will have a devastating affect on them and their families.

Very few good doctors join the forces world wide. I think our Navy docs must be exceptionally good.

Why not get someone from the WHO to treat SF?

Ah funny...! If "As per the doctors, his health is very good"....why "We will have a navy doctor checking him everyday"??? GoSL think people of this country is a herd of d*nkeys...Hee Haw Hee Haw...!

Why did it take so long for them to decide?. May be they are not aware that SF is a War Hero injured twice in action in battle field and once by suicide bomber. May be these guys have never met a war hero alive.

Was DAYA MASTER the terrorist checked by the Navy Docs?
These guys are seamen and less experienced medics Gen. needs special treatment.

WE NEED AN INDEPENDENT, SPECIALIST, TEAM OF DOCTORS, WHO ARE WELL EXPERIENCED! Not those from the Navy.

Please treat Rtd. Gen. Fonseka, humanely! This man nearly gave up his life, for our country. Please, treat him with dignity and respect.

The government should have been wise enough to allow one or two eminent civilian doctors to be included in the medical team attending on the General. If this simple step had been taken, all these anxieties and politically inclined talk could have been easily avoided, for the good of all concerned.
