A narrow win, but the impact will be high...

The culprit of this unfair allocation of seats is the late UNP leader J.R.Jayawardene. Now the UNP is reaping the results of cunning policies of its own (late) leader.

Lets send all the presiding officers back to school to lean to count before any more elections

One vote majority, two thirds in the council! What a
(dis)proportional representation!!
Kan Friday, 18 March 2011 11:39 AM
Leaving seats apart, it seems still UNP has good support from voters based on the numbers of vote counted in favour of UNP although less than winning party, if I am right.

UNP never thought it will become a boomerang to them.
Dirtiest constitution in the world.

This reminds me a practical joke.
'Re-count votes or Count until we win'
Calistus Jayatilleke Friday, 18 March 2011 01:23 PM
One fine day, all those who counted will have to account for all those!

I don't trust the results of any election in Sri Lanka.
It is same even in UNP era, they have registered their henchman in multiple locations to cast the votes & now this regime is following the same footsteps.
Everybody who is willing to practice democratic rights has to call for Computerized casting system to avoid multiple cast of votes.
