Namal’s secretary’s house attacked

The residence of the coordinating secretary of Hambantota MP Namal Rajapaksa was shot early this morning in Beliatta. No one was injured in the attack while the police are conducting further investigations, the police said.
Police media spokesman Prishantha Jayakody said that the attack occurred around 2.30am. Four shots have been fired and several windows were also damaged.
The coordinating secretary who is known as ‘Moorthi’ had gone to his room to finish some of his work in his computer at the time of the incident.
It is widely believed that two men who came in a motorbike carried out the shooting on his residence situated along the Hakmana- Beliatta main road.
The Beliatta police under the directions of Southern Province DIG Kingsley Ekanayake are investigating into the incident. (SD&GS)
