A total of 89 individuals including six women had been arrested for use or possessing narcotic drugs at a party organized through Facebook, at a hotel in Hingurakgoda last night.
Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the Police recovered narcotics such as Methamphetamine (Ice Meth), Opium, Kerala cannabis and narcotic tablets from the possession of the suspects.
The Police also recovered Rs. 128,000 in cash during the raid.
The arrested women were identified as residents of Kandy, Kurunegala, Trincomalee and Anuradhapura.
The suspects would be produced before the Hingurakgoda Magistrate today.(Darshana Sanjeewa)
