​Mullaitivu Magistrate bans LTTE remembrance event

The Mullaitivu Magistrate today banned holding any pro-LTTE remembrance events in the Mullaitivu police division for 14 days starting from May 18, the Police said.

They said that police obtained this order from the Court following reports that Tamil National People’s Front (TNPF) planning to hold an LTTE-remembrance event at Mullivaikal on May 18.

Meanwhile, Tamil Canadian website said that the TNPF has received a letter from the Mullaitivu Magistrate’s Court that banning the organisation from hosting a Mullivaikal remembrance event on May 18th.
