Mr President, you are a unique person,. Every speech you deliver is meaningful and demonstrates your clear thinking. I am amazed how you save yourself from those political traps that are hovering around you all the time !

When the dictator Mahindan had been sent home by the people ,his henchmen who were elected on proportional system also logically rejected by the people. On the contrary ,presidential candidate went before the people and told that Ranil would be Prime minister in the event of his election as President ,so what these idiots are barking for ?

Great decision! I was worried what now would happen. You have strength Mr. President. You have the brains to decide what best to do for the country. You are selfless! We need you! The only good president we ever had as somebody before me said. Yes, it is 20A that is important and then after the elections we will see if the people still want MR!The no confidence motion is only an attempt to get MR into power in order to save the skins of the corrupt politicians and the government servants!
Siripala Monday, 08 June 2015 06:29 PM
@Nuwan Ranil never betrayed the country, He signed the CFA cuz the economy and the military was too weak for war and if not the LTTE would have slaughtered our troops
Ddesmond Fernando Monday, 08 June 2015 06:26 PM

Push Monday, 08 June 2015 04:09 PM

Mr President - well done, you have a backbone and proving to be the best president we had. peoples mandate was very clear on the 8th of Jan and the old jokers are history. when you dissolve parliament they should never come back again. you should have a new team that is not corrupted. you are the president of our nation and not confined to one party. please pick suitably and qualified people who do not have a history of rape, thuggery, cheating public funds etc and make a nice new parliament after the next general elections. People are no more worried about the color, or the symbol but we need good and suitable people to lead this country who understand development and economic progress. In the last 15 years we had a total deterioration of our basic health, basic education, law and order as well as peoples economic stability. imagine this country could not even hold the year 5 scholarship exam without the paper being leaked out. and yet the so called former education minster a joke
Ananda Monday, 08 June 2015 01:08 PM
Hon President, after you become the president of the country we have peace of mind, we know you will maintain law and order in the country.
Mahen Monday, 08 June 2015 12:58 PM
It will be interesting to discover whether the people of the country desire an increase in the number of MPs? Whether they think that Will be the answer to all their problems?
Chryshan Monday, 08 June 2015 09:29 AM
President and PM work with their mission in mind and not just to glorify individuals. Once 20A is inacted most of the promises made under 100 day program is done. The country will be in correct path no matter who comes into power.
Boonda Monday, 08 June 2015 12:21 PM
@Rajendra, dont you understand the fact the general public have the ultimate sovereignty than the MPs as they rejected MR and selected MS who declared via manifesto that RW would be appointed as PM.
Nuwan Chandrasekara Monday, 08 June 2015 12:18 PM
Yes. No one has ever betrayed country orethan him. So yes! Ranil is the best person to do the job!
moda Monday, 08 June 2015 11:45 AM

Mason Monday, 08 June 2015 11:30 AM
Whatever may be his faults, in the present parliament there is no one better suited to be PM than Ranil Wickremasinghe. No one can deny this fact.
citizen a Monday, 08 June 2015 11:09 AM

Bala Monday, 08 June 2015 10:04 AM
AAnd importantly the CC and Independent Commissions so that there will be justice and fairplay in high appointmentsand not politcal catchers like Cabraal and Mahendran

Mr. President Please act honestly and Please Make sure the Power of Prime Minister was given on the Majority of Parliament Not on your Private agreement between You and Ranil which is invalid as per the constitution
