Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa and five others have been summoned to meet the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) tomorrow over the ITN controversy.

A highly placed official of the Commission said ex-president Rajapaksa, Susil Premajayantha and few others had been summoned to the BMICH where a public hearing with regard to the non-payment of bills owed to ITN will take place.

The official said a statement would be recorded from former UPFA general secretary Susil Premajayantha and some others over the matter.

M/s Rajapaksa and Premajayantha had been questioned regarding this matter on two previous occasions and both had averred that the party should be held accountable. (Ajith Siriwardana)

Someone must be made accountable - mainly the person who benefited from the exercise.

"summoned to the BMICH where a public hearing with regard to the non-payment of bills owed to ITN will take place." - Cannot the authorities broadcast this hearing (preferably on TV) for the whole country to be made aware of their flimsy answers ( and view their body language).

They can appear before PRECIFAC, Police, CID, FCID or anything you can think of. However, what is assured is that NO action against MR or Gota or Kudu Duminda or Basil or Namal or Sajin or Wimal or Yoshitha and all other criminals will be taken. So why are we wasting time here? Can someone tell me what is the point of all these?

We have a new bountiful export commodity. Crooks. Cannot we find some country who will buy them, even free of charge.
