Nikaweratiya police arrested a 25 year old woman who abandoned her a day old infant near a school in the area yesterday.

According to the Police media unit the child was found abandoned near the Galmilawa School by the police who were informed by the residents of the area.

Police investigations located the mother of the child and arrested her before she was admitted to hospital for a medical checkup while further investigations continued.

Hi cobra, the animal kingdom is far superior to humans. Animals discard only when they find that their tiny ones cannot survive. Today's humans come after animals in care and affection.

You are wrong. Animals do it all the time, when there is not enough food to go round. There is a parallel here as it seems circumstances had compelled her to abandon child. It is still a sad situation.
