Mourning is not part of the Buddhist philosophy. It is a religious ritual.

How do we Sri Lankans mark a “day of mourning” in the days gone by…..when we were small all we knew it was a day of mourning was when flags were at “half-mast”, Radio broadcast appropriate programs ….
But today !!!!!
Even to Govt. announces the key item on the day of mourning is the closure of bars!!!!
What are we ???? A nation of boozers???….

Half X Open = Half X Closed. When the two "Half" cancel out, it is Open = Close. This is Sri Lanka education today.

We should also not celebrate 'Victory day' and instead declare it as a day or mourning in remembrance and respect of the deaths of our own brothers and sisters.
