It is rather surprising to note that the post mortun findings are that Sqadren Leader Perera's death was due to a heart attack while the Air Force Commander says that he was in good health due to regular check ups. This is very misleading.

How does one contribute to a humanitarian operation by flying Fighter Jets which are designed to shoot and drop bombs?

WONDER OF ASIA............. A PERSON WHO HAD DIED OF NATURAL CAUSES IS PROMOTED POSTHUMOUSLY. If his services have been so invaluable then should have been promoted soon after the war. Senseless Defense Dept. mocks the public and it is damn insult to the dead person. DOES THE PRESIDENT VOTED IN BY PUBLIC TO THE OFFICE THINK THAT HE OWNS THIS COUNTRY ?????

Similarly, General Fonseka should be promoted "postmartially" for all the services rendered in eradicating LTTE terrorism from Sri Lanka.

Why didn't he get a promotion when he was alive for his contribution in the final stages of war?
Samara Thursday, 03 March 2011 07:44 AM
Promotions in Military mean only two things now. Either you are kicked out or the person kicked the bucket.
