Hats off to the Police for their excellent job. Sri Lankan Police are a capable lot and they could unravel all the pending mysterious cases if not for the nefarious politicians who have put pressure on them. The unfortunate thing in this context is abducting the child in a sacred place where Lord Buddha set his foot. The miscreants should be severely dealt with.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 12:28 PM

Thank God and Srilankan police. Parents must keep the children always with them whereever they go. This is the lession for the parents.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 12:15 PM

Don't worry mate. LTTE is not there anymore to harm your children.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 12:09 PM

don't let them get away with Bail it's no use granting the Culprits Bail . Let it be a lesson to all other fellowmen who have the same intention of abducting innocent children.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 11:29 AM

That woman is no lady! She is a kidnaper who should go to jail, Well Done Police.

This happened in the Kelaniya temple. Triple gem blessed all of them. All should give thanks to the police and Media who gave wide publicity.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:52 AM

Hope that the same prayers, support and interest can go to the thousands of tamil children maimed, abducted, lost to mothers of the north and east.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:47 AM

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:43 AM

I think technology too helped to find this child. i too receive a mail with this girl's photo saying she is missing. This mail should have gone to most parts of Sri Lanka in a few hours. So, I think that helped to find the kid in someway.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:36 AM

Wel done police...after a long time the police made a great achievment which must be appreciated...

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:35 AM

Dear all,, I have seen so many similar incidents at shopping complexes (Specially at ladies wear section). Some Parents are searching fir their child. Fortunately after few minutes they were found but,if some one wants to take them they can do it easily. Pls. give attention to them as well as the garment designs and colours.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 03:48 PM

It is a wonderful thing to find her. this must be a gift from the god for her parents, so at least now protect your children with your eyes.
but the funny part of the story is that she went missing while attending bodhi pooja, the parents must have done 100 of further bodhi poojs to find her

    Wednesday, 12 May 2010 06:01 AM

Thats what the police does anyway. They seek tip offs from people, they get help from media. Thats how it works anywhere in the world. Please give credit where its due. be people of integrity.

    Wednesday, 12 May 2010 02:03 AM

Not only police, the media and the public eye saved that little girl.

What about 'red tshirt short hair woman' who was arrested by the police?. They went in the wrong way.

    Wednesday, 12 May 2010 01:08 AM

For WHAT??? ... Police have only cordinated. People Should BE COMMENDED. if you dont know what happen, dont praise police. The Child have brought to MARAWILA POLICE By CIVILIANS. SO HOW COME POLICE BE COMMENDED ???!!!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 04:14 PM

Police who involved in this should be highly praised, What about the doctor who is responsible for this area saying?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:35 AM

Thanks to all the police officers and all those involved in saving this child.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 03:22 PM

Maximum punishment should be given to the kidnapper. The women should be jailed for life, with the rest who helped her with this. As for the police, they have done a great job, and the officers should be rewarded in some way.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 02:26 PM

Since the LTTE is defeated there is no abduction of Tamil children......

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 02:13 PM

    # thush - An imaginary God had nothing to do with this. So why thank "God". Thank the Police personnel who found the child.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 01:43 PM

We are proud that we Srilankans are united in helping each other in this sort of incidents. Thanks for all who took a part in this.

Thank God !... if there is God !

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 01:05 PM

Freedom, U R correct and I too got the same impression when I heard that Father was thinking the child was with Mother and the Mother thinking the child was with Father.
    Good lesson for their CARELESSNESS.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:34 AM

    good news of the day.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:59 AM

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:55 AM

it is responsibility of the parents to take care of their kids. I am 44 yrs old still my mum is worried when i get late from office...this is how the parents of those days behave....now a days parents are so care free........

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:00 AM

thanks to all who helped, those parents can have a sigh of relief. but one thing..why should any one try to bring politics and politicians in to any incidents....?
    so pathetic....

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:32 AM

Very curious to know how the kid was found?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:32 AM

Lucky girl. Anyway good work by Police and great relief for the parents.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:30 AM

Dear Parents, We know you love your offsprings. But please be WITH THEM where ever you are or whatever you are doing. Within a split second the damage will be irreparable if you take your eyes from a baby.

Hope this is the same child they have found in a 3 wheeler.

    Theruwan Saranai

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:27 AM

Those who are responsible for kidnapping the child should be given the maximum punishment in order to stop these kind of heart breaking brutal acts.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:27 AM

Thanks God. What a relief to her parents. culprits must be severely punished.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:27 AM

Thank God she is safe, this carelessness should punish the parents nicely

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:27 AM

    Good move, thank god !!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:26 AM

does the doctor from KELANIYA have anythign to do with this incident?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:03 AM

Is it a genuine mistake by the parants ??,Child to be blamed or Parents to be blamed ?? If so better be more caring and careful with your child at least from now, since it's not worth blaming an entire nation for ones carelessness.

Lucky kid anyway to be back with her own parents !!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:03 AM

POLICE OFFICERS WHO WERE INVOLVED TO TRACE THE CULPRITS SHOULD BE HIGHLY COMENDED

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:06 AM

Dear Parents please be vigilant wherever you go with kids, poor parents must have had an unbearable suffering and agony during last few days. Maximum punishment should be meted to culprits.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:06 AM

I guess we as Sri Lankans should thank the media for publicizing it thus making it hard for the culprits to get away .

Cheers media and daily mirror ......

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:09 AM

these culprits should be hanged. Somebody from the police do somthing for this culprit. The news should go to the public also. So others will be scared. Police also should not reveal how they got this criminal. Well done poilce.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:09 AM

Very true.....so many parents are very careless even when walking on the road with a child.....This incident should be an eye opener for all...!!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:10 AM

Great and God bless the team of police. It is sad when this is not applicable in some parts of the country where culprits were not punished in the case of murdered little girl in Trinco

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:11 AM

Come on, Who and what ever. Take the positive side. That will take us forward

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:17 AM

God job, timely action taken by good officers in this regard. A big thank you. Why can't they take the same with regards to our missing journalist Ekneligoda ?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:18 AM

Well done police. I think this is 100% parents fault. If the parents can't keep an eye on their children they should not take them to public places. The culprits should be stoned in public. I would suggest police to give the same punishment which was given to culprits who kidnapped little Varsha in Trinco last year.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:19 AM

if its the same child who went missing superb news super super super job by our policemen thanks a lot we can now keep hope about our police

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:22 AM

The detectives involved in this case should be highly commended. Children gone missing in the West are rarely found alive. Well done Sri Lanka.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:23 AM

Kids aged 2 and half years are all like the "Curious George".. they r so curios, that they can't simply stay in one place.. my only son is also of the same age, so i can easily feel how terribly the parents of this girl must have felt.

Thank god for protecting the child. Alhamdhu-lillah!!! (All praise be to God, almighty)

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:24 AM

Good duty by Police. Culprit should be well punished.
Parents should care more about their children.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:33 AM

A salute to the sri Lankan police department !
