A civil defence force member has been arrested after he virtually carried out a copy cat act of former Deputy Minister Mervyn Silva by tying a woman to a tree in Welipana forcing her to be later hospitalized.According to the Welipana police the woman was tied to the tree after she approached to the civil defence force member to make an inquiry about a youth.
Police had later found the woman and admitted her to hospital. (Daily Mirror online)

why this Civil defence Officer was arrestd immediaely while Mervin was not arested for the sam crime he did, this is shows the deficiencis of SriLanka law.
