A civil defence force member has been arrested after he virtually carried out a copy cat act of former Deputy Minister Mervyn Silva by tying a woman to a tree in Welipana forcing her to be later hospitalized.
According to the Welipana police the woman was tied to the tree after she approached to the civil defence force member to make an inquiry about a youth.
Police had later found the woman and admitted her to hospital. (Daily Mirror online)
An immediate inquiry will be held and the accused will be found innocent and freed.

If Mervin was found innocent- how can the Civil defence force guy be ever found guilty of doing the same. Mervin was found innocent despit live video footage. So how can one proove this guy guilty without any viedoe footage!!
