The poor sod must have thought the airport was closed and he could walk right through.

A deal gone wrong.... Probably the officer asked for more than what they initially agreed. IF he is a smart businessman, he would NOT have arrived via Mattala, for not much is happening and all of em are waiting like VULTURES to prey. IF he used Colombo, none would have noticed except the guy, whom he had previously arranged... To me he is a DUMB businessman...

Ruzaick Wednesday, 12 June 2013 10:47 AM
He would have thought that all custom officers are sleeping in Mattala airport so that he can smuggle easily
Regi Wednesday, 12 June 2013 09:49 AM
He should have known better to use the somewhat BIA instead of not so busy Mattala Airport
Critic Roshan Wednesday, 12 June 2013 09:19 AM
The passenger may thought it was allowed to carry gems and jewellery freely at this airport, or may have the impression that the Customs Officers would just let him go. Poor fellow!
Ruwan Wednesday, 12 June 2013 05:58 AM
Well, I guess it gives the officials at MRIA something to do!
Poor fellow was probably the only passenger getting off the plane... hehehe... :p
Cynic Wednesday, 12 June 2013 09:02 AM
Does Ryan know where the country is heading? down a deep pit for sure.
doratupala Wednesday, 12 June 2013 08:56 AM
Why did he choose Mattala to smuggle the items, when he is based in Colombo?.
