Malani, The entire country respected you and appreciated your capabilities as the best actress of this country over so many decades. its sad to see how today you have, on your own, wasted that dignity for dirty politics.

I wish to complain about deleting an important part of my comment, thereby completely distorting the meaning what I was trying to convey. This has caused a large number of thumbs down. If you are doing such an unethical act, you must at-least explain to me why it was done. But I notice that worse comments from others are published.

    Raabu Tuesday, 25 September 2012 12:18 PM

What has she done for the country as a parliament member? other than getting cars and salaries?

    Matalan Tuesday, 25 September 2012 03:55 AM

Expect respect for what you really are(actress), and not what you pretend to be(stateswoman).

On receipt of her letter of resignation Secretary General of Parliament would have informed the Commissioner of Elections about her resignation and the necessary follow up action would have been already taken for filling the vacancy, etc. What is the position when she withdraws now?

    Milindra Tuesday, 25 September 2012 08:56 AM

    Shame! Changing the mind!

Sonali De Silva Tuesday, 25 September 2012 05:30 AM

This is how people of her caliber lose repeat. She should have stuck to her acting - or whatever is left of it. So sad what politics can do to people.
