It is the duty of the Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs Ministry to annouce that other than "pure" Theravada Buddhism there can be no other sects of Buddhists in Sri Lanka. If anyone wants to practice Mahayana or any other sects they have the liberty to move to a country that practice distorted versions of Buddhism, You have to put a fullstop right at the strat!

Is this a rogue temple or an official Nichiren Shoshu temple? Or a temple run by corrupt people.
If this incident is a case of persecution of Mahayana Buddhism without regard for religious freedom, then I would like to know.
Nichiren Shoshu has a long history and power grabs have occured in recent times, under the past HighPriest. They were spread in Japan and around the world by the Soka Gakkai who was excommunicated in 1991.
It could also be the Soka Gakkai, behind this story as paid agitators or bribes.......because they are still obsessed with trying to make Nichiren Shoshu look bad, when they themselves are seriously in violation of true Nichiren Buddhism. The Soka Gakkai is very rich and pays politicians around the world. Nichiren Shoshu is not so rich. I would appreciate further explanations from Sri Lankans as to how they were swindled.
