Venerable Sir, your statement is not a very firm one. like they have been before. You come under pressure and succumb. Please be steadfast and make a bold decision and not worry about what happens to you. Believe in your "SELF" like the Buddha did and you'll see the results. No one is going to be dumb to harm you physically. Once you have made your stance known to the whole country and stay steadfastly, the people will rally round you.

The biggest issue of our NATION is to implement GOOD GOVERNANCE from POLITICAL LEADERSHIP to RELIGIOUS LEADERSHIP as we all can witness, when we try to choose the HEADS for Dalada Maligawa and Sri padha
Chenamana Tuesday, 17 July 2012 11:53 AM
the politician know how to make poly tricks and how to cheat the people once the election on the way. Until GOSL solve the tamils issue non f the sinhalese is going to live with peace. The souls of the nearly 200000 killed tamils will not allow you to live peacefully in SL. Even though you say there are people living happily, that is a show only. In their heart there are not.

Manisha, correct, leave the useless politicos out ; what are our clergy doing ?, they are unable to put their own house in order ,let alone correcting layman, through proper preaching-

whos country ? Prabhakaran's or ours - the curse is our short memory
Senna Tuesday, 17 July 2012 12:32 PM
It is not too late. OnlY Two Years after the brutal war with LTTE. Country may be shifting lttle bit away from the normal state because of the massive development programmes, interference from Western Countries & Tamil Nadu and massive assistance from China and Russia & Pakistan-some quarters don't like that? Govt should keep a balance and eradicate corruption and consult relevant Ven Mahanayakas and other Religious leaders time to time.
RajasH Tuesday, 17 July 2012 12:27 PM
it's seems you cant erase Prabakaran from your memory and move forward
Jayasekara Tuesday, 17 July 2012 01:00 PM
To improve law and order only punishing persons found guilty will not do as this government withdrew cases against their supporters when the publicly attention is gone so all these cases against their supports only till the public attention is there
If they had continue the rape case against the MP many things would have been different
Banda Tuesday, 17 July 2012 11:21 AM
It's a curse that this country is facing...

H.E VENERABLE SIR, WE HAVE NO WORDS THANK YOU.YOU ARE ALWAYS ABOVE THE POLITICIANS. YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY AND ALSO THE POWER & AUTHORITY TO INSIST THE DIRTY POLITICAL PINGUTHTHARAYAS TO DO AN HONOURABLE SERVICE TO THE NATION. PLEASE ORGANIZE BUDDHIST THEROS TO GET TO GETHER WITH BUDDHIST LAWYERS AND FIGHT AGAINST THE CORRUPTED DIRTY POLITICOS WHOSE ACTIONS, BEHAVIORS LEAD TO DESTROY OUR SINHALA INNOCENT BUDDHISTS.

I feel its the clergy who spoils the politicians who are powerful to get things done at the expense of the people, they need not be under obligations they represent the the greatest of all the Lord Buddha. Budusaranai, lanka apita.
I am personally proud of the Mahanayake thero of the Malwatta for being true to himself.
saman Tuesday, 17 July 2012 05:53 AM
Stop blaming each other, we all should get to gether and change the LAW of the country. If go to courts it will take more than 10 years to get a result . Then people try to solve their problems on their own.
Manisha Tuesday, 17 July 2012 02:37 AM
Dear Ven. Sir we expect more involvement in your counterpart to protect Buddhism than general affairs i.e monks in the partiament and pradeshiya sabhas, thousands of Buddhas rising through out the county, the inconsistent teachings by different bhikkus and people who preach they are enlightened etc.
ACT NOW OR NEVER
CHANDRAPALA Tuesday, 17 July 2012 02:32 AM
Now it is two late. The country has already fallen in to the deep hell. How many times have they been advised by the prelates regarding the present situation of the country?
Ramanan Sivapathan Tuesday, 17 July 2012 03:03 AM

Nodrog Tuesday, 17 July 2012 03:23 AM

Al Rasa Tuesday, 17 July 2012 04:07 AM
Ven. Mahanayakw thero please understand that all what you have mentioned started long ago but when it happens and when it was let to happen , remedial measures are in a snail speed.

Cobra Tuesday, 17 July 2012 01:54 AM
All the people are expressing their dissatisfaction about what is happening in the country and against those who are responsible by protests, through the media and the thousands of web comments we see every day. But they do not hear because their ears are clogged with colonies of dust mites!!!!!
aaa Tuesday, 17 July 2012 06:07 AM
It is not correct to mention other religions when they talk about Buddhism.
kanthi Tuesday, 17 July 2012 07:38 AM
Sri Rohana Janaranjana holders & presenters plus those who seek 'miracles' and 'spells' from the stick (on their way to the land of milk and hunny).

cindymontrose Tuesday, 17 July 2012 09:32 AM
The so called people in the government do not want to hear any thing good for the poor people.. they are very happy their pockets are getting filled every day. Mahanayakas should be strong and courageous to tell the people of this governemnt how to behave as proper human beings and to serve the poor people.
