The Madras High Court has upheld the Centre's ban on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) between 2010 and 2012. The ban has been renewed for years till 2014 international media reports said.

According to NDTV, MDMK chief Vaiko, along with two pro-Tamil advocates, had challenged the ban that was earlier upheld by the Unlawful Activities Tribunal in Chennai. Mr Vaiko, who had fought the case himself in courts, had contended that the LTTE's objective of establishing a sovereign nation for Tamils in the island did not pose any threat to the territorial integrity of India, thus contending that the banning of the organisation in India was unlawful.

Mr Vaiko has also challenged the extension of ban. "I would continue to fight; the basis of the ban would crumble," the NDTV reported.

Dear Centre & Madras High court, please lift the ban of LTTE and let Mr.Vaiko resurrect it in TN. because SL will not care whether IND ban it or not, as the word LTTE is in the bin of DREAMS where the word EALAM already RIP.
