Former United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader and MP Karu Jayasuriya had requested party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to permit party members to participate in United Bikkhu Front organised Hyde Park rally to urge the abolition of the executive presidency.

In his letter to Mr. Wickremesinghe, Mr. Jayasuriya had emphasised that the people expected the UNP to give leadership to a joint opposition effort to bring about good governance in Sri Lanka.

He said this was essential at a time when all other opposition parties are taking a stand on the abolishing of the executive presidency.  (Yohan Perera)

Now in UNP we don't to whom to believe...But for sure we know one of the three (Ranil, Sajith and Karu) is secretely supporting Govt.

Being with the party can be considered as a loyalty but does it mean you have to do everything what party does whether it is good to the country or not?
In Karu's point of view, he does what is best for the country. Not narrow minded with party concept. Even when he went to the government, he did that based on this mind set. Political support was necessary to finish the war at that time. His action collapsed UNP but he helped to save the country.

I agree hundred percent with Impartial Guy. speak to common man and work accordingly.

    rumi Tuesday, 16 October 2012 02:21 PM

no-problem-why BHIKKU involved? BHIKKUS should spread harmony among people and make then more religious.

Impartial Guy Tuesday, 16 October 2012 11:25 AM

    Ranil,
Please listen to Karu and act wisely and do not be adamant. There is a limit for everything. Do not ever think that supporters will listen to you all the time. Before long you will realize that you are left with few losers and retired guys who can do nothing. Before you and your henchmen are thrown out from the party, act wisely and be in the party.

    edirisooriya Wednesday, 17 October 2012 03:01 AM

Everybody has liberty to attend any meeting.RANIL OR HENCHMEN can't stop it.Now no body respect Ranil. He is a loosing leader.WE WILL LEAVE RANIL ALONE
