The price of a 12.5 kg Laugfs gas cylinder will be reduced by Rs. 73 with effect from midnight today while the price of a 12.5 kg Shell gas cylinder will remain unchanged, spokesman for the Trade Ministry said.
The new price of a 12.5 kg Laugfs gas cylinder would be Rs.1520.
i can't understand the reality of reducing prices and incresing prices again?. why don't they mentain a fixed price for a long term. this reduction n increment of prices only enjoy by the sellers not by users or consumers,
Geronimo Wednesday, 03 November 2010 02:06 PM
Nihal, you missed my point. What I meant was that when they increase prices it is by ten fold of the amount they reduce when they feel like it and that is the big laugh! Get it?
ajith Wednesday, 03 November 2010 07:19 AM
Shell-Why not? You both supply LPG with same weight with only the color of the cylinder different.
koneswaransaro Wednesday, 03 November 2010 06:45 AM
What a business idea?
PWC Wednesday, 03 November 2010 05:31 AM
yes. Even the fuel prices are also changes frequently there.
PWC Wednesday, 03 November 2010 05:29 AM
Our peole are always negative. If laugfs increases, you won't tell this.
nihal Wednesday, 03 November 2010 05:29 AM
IPO or not, laugfs has done what SHELL refuses to do. We need to learn to applaud the good in anyone or anything regardless of political biases.
PWC Wednesday, 03 November 2010 05:28 AM
if the amount is increase by the same, how do you feel ???
nihal Wednesday, 03 November 2010 05:27 AM
Yes, Geronimoi, it is a BIG deal for those, who unlike you, value every rupee that they can save. Rs.73 saved is another loaf of bread and a coconut for a poor family. Thank U laugfs.
Gamaya Wednesday, 03 November 2010 04:53 AM
I think this is a good move. Price should change with the market trends. In countries like Australia different venders offer different prices even on the same day. Also price go up and down based on the demand and the crude oil prices.
lankaputha Wednesday, 03 November 2010 04:10 AM
reduce the price before IPO, then once all shares are sold, increase the price again. A Gimmic to show some instant profits.
waseqe Wednesday, 03 November 2010 03:43 AM
Laugfs market is very small. People need Shell reduction.
Ramesh Tuesday, 02 November 2010 11:10 AM
Laugfs makes us laugh?
Calistus Jayatilleke Wednesday, 03 November 2010 02:16 AM
Laughs is going to have the last laugh as this is a small bait for the consumers considering their plans to acquire Shell as well, with political patronage.

ok every one laugh- please send some cylinder to rural area, do nto dump all in the city, we are suffering with no gas.
Mohamed Tuesday, 02 November 2010 11:26 AM
It is a Laugh alright. What I think is maybe the quality must be inferior. If Laugfs can reduce it why cannot SHELL Gas also to the same? There seems to be something fishy in this matter. Maybe because of the upcoming IPO.
sw Tuesday, 02 November 2010 11:24 AM
Yes, may be that the response to the IPO is poor.
Geronimoi Tuesday, 02 November 2010 11:18 AM
BIG DEAL, THE AMOUNT MAKES ME LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE GAS STATION!!!!!
